Illegal Prescription Drug Possession Empty
PostSubject: Illegal Prescription Drug Possession   Illegal Prescription Drug Possession EmptyFri Sep 20, 2013 3:46 pm

Each year, many individuals are caught illegally possessing prescription drugs. Like illegal drugs, many prescription drugs create highs and other desirable effects for drug users. In many cases, they are easier to obtain since some individuals are entitled to receive them legally.

In most cases, these drugs exchange owners when individuals with prescriptions for certain medications sell their medications at premium prices to individuals looking for the highs that they create. This is illegal, both for the individual selling and for the individual buying.

Usually, individuals only have one method for legally acquiring a prescription drug. This involves being diagnosed with a certain ailment and a licensed physician writing a prescription for the patient to treat his or her ailments. This written note must then be taken to a pharmacy, where a licensed pharmacist fills the order and sells it to the patient.

Acquiring a prescription by any other means is usually considered illegal. Individuals who are caught illegally possessing prescription drugs may face criminal charges if they are caught.

Depending on the drug in question and the amount that the accused individual possesses, possession may be considered a misdemeanor or a felony. Then, depending on the designation of the crime, the individual may face drug rehabilitation or more severe penalties, such as jail time.
